The nomination "Responsible for those ...": The ecological project of schoolchildren "Christmas trees and Needles" (Yelki-Igolki) united children from the fifth and sixth grades and became a charity.
The idea to collect food for dogs and cats that are kept in shelters in Perm arose from the teachers of the Eco-School. It was they who raised the cry among the students and parents. And we ourselves did not expect such a serious response.
"Everyone started bringing food, toys and other necessities to us: from toddlers from elementary school to grandmothers who accompany their grandchildren to school. The participants of our eco-club enthusiastically sorted everything, counted it, put it into "dog" and "cat", we put everything in boxes for transportation," says Olga Lushnikova, a biology teacher at the Perm Eco-School and organizer of the Yelki-Igolki school ecological club.

The school administration went to meet them and the volunteers got a bus with a cart. It was on it that the children and teachers from the Yelki - Igolki club went to deliver gifts to shelters.
The Four Paws Shelter greeted the children with sonorous, discordant barking. The furry guests wagged their tails, impatiently moved their paws and watched the guests with attentive eyes. Everyone wanted to get their share of affection and warm touch. But the guys also brought with them a lot of things that many shelters lack so much. After all, the shelter's pets, and there are more than 200 of them, are kept only by donations from caring people and volunteers.

The school managed to collect more than 250 kilograms of dry and wet food, various cereals, and dog treats for dogs alone. The guys also brought ammunition, gloves, collars, leashes, combs and even textiles for dogs.
"This campaign has become a real lesson of kindness and responsibility for me. It was especially pleasant to realize that thanks to our joint work, many animals will receive the care and attention that they sometimes lack. Together, as a team, we can do a lot," says Sofia Lomakina, a student at the Perm Eco-School.

After receiving a portion of kindness from the furry ones, the guys went to other tailed ones – to a shelter for cats, where 65 pets are kept. The families of the students and the staff of the Eco-School handed over more than 70 kilograms of dry food and almost 400 bags of wet food, diapers, toys, bowls, combs, trays and filler to the moustaches.
"At first, the cats and kittens greeted us with caution, but every animal need love and affection, and the guys were able to give them their attention, kindness and warmth. The cats began to trust the children, allowed them to pet and pick them up. The visit was very pleasant and warm. And after our trips, a photo exhibition with animals from the shelter was organized at the school," the organizers of the action said.

According to the teachers, when the students crossed the threshold of the shelter, many children opened their eyes to the true cost of helping animals. After all, several dozen pairs of eyes looked at them with a plea for help, with a plea for affection and attention. On that day, many of the children of the Yelki -Igolki club realized what real help is for those who really need it.
